Car Review: 2011 Toyota 4Runner

Toyota-4Runner-2011
Car Review: 2011 Toyota 4Runner - 2011 Toyota 4Runner is good for towing and off-road driving, but not the best substitute for the family car. A rugged 4.0-liter V6 sound is powerful and relatively fuel. efficient Tour turbulent and handling is poor. Version "Trail" is designed for serious off-road riding. Its 4WD system is a primitive of part-time system , unless you upgrade to the Limited trim. Third-row seats are optional.

Professional and Consumer Review:

Professional: I just traded my 2001 SR5 for a 2011 SR5 and so far I love it. The ECO light reminds me to accelerate a little bit more gently which is a plus for the $$ of gas today at $4 for reg unleaded. Stereo system is fantastic. Ride is smooth and quiet. Transmission has a great feel! The Bluetooth cellphone capabilities are fantastic - NY State just added 2 points to any cellphone violation while driving, so I can't speak highly enough about the technology.

Consumer: I found a small spot of rust on the rear bezel. I do not expect that all vehicles with less than 6K miles. For handling in curves, not too high. Enter the fast corners, I think, because it really makes a / as soft costs, but adjusted to the turns more slowly. In general, the truck is driving me a little more civilized than I should anyway. Backup mirror is a bit overrated ... is good when back in the garage to make sure I'm all the way without hitting the wall. This is a truck and the steps would probably be very useful, especially when the roof cleaning or storage of equipment in the transport of goods. @car review

Japan: toyota looks for new parts supply line in Korea 2011

Japan: toyota looks for new parts supply line in Korea 2011 - Attracting Toyota Motor: The chairman of top automaker in Japan, Toyota Motors, visited Korea last weekend to "encourage dealers and explain the process of recovery from the earthquake in Japan." But industry analysts believe that the visit otherwise. They see the visit as part of a tour to get parts suppliers for Toyota manufacturing outside of Japan, which is prone to earthquakes and other natural disasters.

Even before the earthquake and tsunami caused problems in March monstrous production, Toyota has seen a drop in sales due to the repeated reminders and a strong yen. Its production lines were closed due to power shortages and parts. Therefore, Toyota may be the active search for new power lines in Korea, geographic proximity, as well as a provider of high quality parts businesses throughout the automotive world.

Korea has benefited from its proximity to the disaster has affected Japan. Softbank has recently joined the telecommunications sector in Korea to establish a global data center in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang. The movement, of course, came amid growing fears of aftershocks increasing natural disasters.

Following the trauma of the earthquake and tsunami, Japanese companies will suffer a 15 percent cut in electricity consumption from July. Many, incuding Toyota, are preparing to move their production bases in South Korea.

According to the government about 100 Japanese companies, including Toyota, are showing interest in the south, which is close to Japan, and holds advanced port, road infrastructure and electricity.

It's too big an opportunity to miss. Rather than seeking short term gains should be able to Korea to take this opportunity by improving our manufacturing capacity to meet the demanding tastes of Japanese companies (Toyota.Motors).

Korea FTA with the EU should enter into force in July, and an agreement with the United States should be ratified quickly, making the Korean market more attractive for Japanese companies.

Toyota Liva launch expected on 27 June

Toyota has been doing extremely well with its Etios sedan in India. The Innova and the Corolla too have been going strong. The Corolla, in particular has responded very well to the competition. The demand is more than the supply for Toyota, and production constraints are creating long waiting periods for the Etios customers. However, Toyota is planning to go ahead with the launch of its much awaited hatchback, the Liva on 27th June. The Liva will be the first Toyota product in the segment, and is expected to affect the sales of its rivals right from the outset.

Just like the Etios sedan, the Etios Liva hatchback too will have aggressive pricing as one of its biggest USPs. Toyota’s reliability, generous cabin space, and expected frugality of the new car’s engine will be some other incentives for the customers to go for the new car. The Liva will be powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine at the time of the launch, a diesel variant will follow later. With a peak power output figure of around 80PS, the new engine may not be the segment topper in terms of specific output, but it is expected to be very fuel efficient and linear in terms of power delivery. It would be very drivable, refined and frugal – the characteristics that really matter in this segment.

Toyota will introduce a diesel variant of the Liva later in the year, sometime around Diwali. The diesel variant will be powered by the same 1.4-liter diesel engine which currently propels the Corolla diesel. Strange, but that’s the thing with diesel engines, the crazy amount of torque they produce deems them fit to put vehicles across segments in motion. Expect the diesel Liva to be one of the most fuel efficient car too, apart from being one of the most torquey.

The Etios Liva is expected to be priced at par with the Suzuki Swift, which itself will witness itself being reincarnated possibly by the end of June. The new Swift is expected to be priced about 5% more than the current version, as it is bigger and better equipped than the outgoing version. At that price point, which of the two would you prefer?

Car Review: Styling and Handling of 2011 Toyota Corolla Altis

Toyota-Corolla-Altis-2011
2011 Toyota Corolla Altis Styling
Seat lower and wider than before, 2011 Toyota Corolla Altis looks much thinner than its predecessor look a little awkward. The headlights of bulky old has gone and character lines are more pronounced, but there are many other things to hide a profile too familiar. Unlike the Toyota Vios and Camry, 2011 Corolla Altis looks more like a facelifted rather than completely new model. While we understand the need for caution, there is room for new adventures. The 2.0V is supplied with a dark gray, single-bar grille and headlights HID smoked in an attempt to appear fashionable.

2011 Toyota Corolla Altis Handling
Despite using the same chassis as before, Corolla Altis handles much better on the road, thanks to firmer suspension, the height is less driving and a wider track. In fact, 2011 Toyota Corolla Altis is more than competent, it is very fun to drive, gripping harder, leaning less and show a little liquid in the corners. The chassis is much more sensitive to the boundary adjustment, while the electric power steering is well weighted and better than before. So, even if not quite at ease on twisty B-roads, the 2011 Toyota Corolla Altis a pretty good job when asked to.

About Toyota Land Cruiser and Its History

Toyota Land Cruiser is a vehicle with series of four-wheel drive produced by Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation. The development of the first generation of Toyota Land Cruiser began in 1951 when the Toyota version of the Jeep-like vehicle and production began in 1954. Toyota Land Cruiser has been produced cabriolet, coupe, wagon and utility truck versions. Toyota Land Cruiser reliability and longevity has led to great popularity, especially in Australia, where is the best-selling full-size, body-on-frame four-wheel drive car. Toyota also has a number of tests for the Toyota Land Cruiser the Australian Outback - is considered one of the toughest operating environments as well as temperature and terrain.

In 1941 the Japanese Imperial Army occupied the Philippines, where they found an old Bantam Mk II, and immediately introduced into Japan. Japanese military authorities ordered Toyota to make a similar vehicle, but not to model the appearance of the American Jeep. The prototype was called the AK model and was officially adopted by the Japanese Imperial Army as Yon-Shiki Kogata Kamotsu-Sha (type 4 compact cargo truck).

Later, in 1941, the Japanese government asked Toyota to produce a truck for Japan military campaign. Toyota has developed a prototype called the AK10 2.1 tons in 1942. The AK10 has been developed using reverse engineering the Bantam GP. There are no known surviving photographs of the AK10. The only known pictorial representations of some sketches. The truck also a vertical grille, flat front wheel arches that angled down and back, like the FJ40, headlights mounted above the wheel arches on either side of the radiator and a folding windshield.

AK10 used 2259 cc, 4 cylinder Toyota Motor Type C AE model sedan, three-speed manual transmission and transfer two-speed gearbox connected to it. There is no mechanical relationship between the AK10 and the postwar Toyota Jeep BJ. Most of the AK10 is not actively used, unlike the Jeep) and there are almost no images of the battlefield.
  • 1950 - Korean War created a demand for a military light utility vehicle. The war in Japan at the door of the Jeep. The U.S. government has ordered 100 vehicles in the new specifications Willys and asked Toyota to build them.
  • 1951 - Toyota Jeep BJ prototype was developed in January 1951. This entry in the demand for military-type vehicles such as the British Land Rover Series 1 that appeared in 1948. The Jeep BJ was larger than the original U.S. Jeep and more powerful engine with type B OHV gasoline 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine that generates 85 hp (63 kW) at 3600 rpm and 215 Nm (159 lb.-ft.) of torque at 1600 rpm. There was a drive system unit part-time four-wheel as the Jeep. Unlike the Jeep, however, the Jeep BJ had no cases of transmission of low end.
  • 1951 - In July 1951 led Toyota test driver Ichiro Taira next generation of the Jeep BJ prototype up to the sixth stage of Mount Fuji, the first vehicle to climb that high. The trial was overseen by the National Police Agency (NPA). Impressed by this feat, the NPA promptly placed an order for 289 of these all-terrain vehicles, making the Jeep BJ their official patrol car.
  • 1953 - Regular production of the "Toyota Jeep BJ" began Honsya Toyota plant (chassis mounting material), and body assembly and painting was done at Arakawa Bankin Kogyo KK, later known under the name Aracil (now a subsidiary of Toyota Auto Body Co.). The "Toyota Jeep BJ" series was introduced with the following:
    • BJ-T (Touring)
    • BJ-R (Radio)
    • BJ-J (Cowl-chassis for a fire truck).
  • 1954 - The name "Land Cruiser" was created by the technical director Hanji Umehara. "In England we had another competitor -.. Land Rover, I had to make a name for our car which is not less worthy of its competitors that is why I decided to call it "Land Cruiser" he recalls.
  • 1954 - The F 125 hp 3.9-liter gasoline engine added to the chassis of the fire. The models were replaced by the following:
    • BJ-T (Touring)
    • BJ-R (Radio)
    • No BJ-J (Cowl chassis fire-engine);

Toyota, Nissan and Honda Face Huge Loses In March

The devastating tsunami and earthquake in Japan has not only left Japan in a state of shock and destruction but it has also affected the world economy with the automobile sector being majorly affected.

Toyota the world’s largest car manufacturing company expects delay in at least 500,000 vehicles due to scarcity of electricity and spare parts. From March 14 to March 26 the company has lost at least 140,000 units already due to shortage of electricity, rubber and spare parts. At this pace hardly any cars will be produced in April and this trend may continue in May too. Talking in terms of stock market Toyota has lost 8.2 percent in stock value in Japan since March 10, the day before the magnitude-9 temblor struck off the coast of Sendai, north of Tokyo.

Despite all these hindrances Toyota has been able to resume hybrid output using parts from suppliers who have recovered and remaining inventory. After March 11 all the manufacturers in Japan are facing power cuts as the generators have been knocked down. Toyota has to come up with a new idea of resuming their production by cooperating with other car manufactures.

Talking about Nissan which is the second largest producer of cars in Japan has reported 55,000 losses in units this month. The company is importing parts from overseas and from local suppliers. These supplies include vital engine components from the US. Nissan is determined to resume production at all car factories in Japan from April 11 while the majorly affected engine factory at Iwaki, Fukushima zone will resume mid-April.

Same story at the Honda stable which has lost 46,000 units from March 14 to April 3, Honda is also resuming production by April 11 with production of parts by April 4. North America is majorly affected by Honda’s cuts in production.

Globally, automakers may give up production of 600,000 vehicles by the end of this month, and manufacturing at plants in North America may be affected when parts supplies start running out as soon as early April. We at Motoroids pray that Japan recovers as soon as possible from this tragic fury of Mother Nature.
